Celebration at the castle
THE Arundel Festival is celebrating its 30th birthday and organisers are expecting this year’s event to follow on from the success of previous years.
The festival takes place in the grounds of historic Arundel Castle in Sussex which has been the home of the Dukes of Norfolk for more than 900 years. Arundel’s head of openings manager Bryan McDonald said: “The Arundel Festival takes eight months to organise and we are expecting more than 15,000 visitors over the four days. Our biggest challenge is the same every year and that’s to ensure we deliver performances at the castle which appeal to all ages and tastes.”
Festival promoter Hugh Phillimore added: “This year we are again featuring selected artists including Girls Aloud who will bring a new audience to the Arundel Festival. All the acts chosen have expressed an interest in playing at Arundel which is now firmly established as a popular annual outdoor musical festival.
“The unique and atmospheric setting created by the back drop of the spectacular castle is enjoyed as much by the artists as concert goers who come to experience something out of the ordinary.”
