Elvis parachutists get free entry to Glade festival
PARACHUTISTS dressed as Elvis will be able to enjoy the Glade Festival for free thanks to a quirky marketing campaign by organisers. 
The offer came about after festival director Nick Ladd was asked by a friend if he sky dived into the festival in aid of charity, could he attend for free. 
After agreeing to his request, Nick decided it would only be fair to open the offer out to other festivalgoers - as long as they agreed to the other terms of being dressed as Elvis, wearing a sound system strapped  
to their back and hit the ground dancing.


Revamped festival lands headline acts
A REVAMPED festival is punching above its weight after securing headliners including Lemar, JLS and Spandau Ballet. 
The Isle of Man Bay Festival was initially created after organisers saw a gap in the market for a festival on the island, which is best known for its TT racing events. 
They organised an event in 2007 - with a line up including Ronan Keating and McFly - to tie in with the 100th anniversary of TT racing.


Kew concerts play vital role for gardens
STAGING summer concerts at Kew Gardens provides a valuable revenue stream while helping to educate visitors on Kew's work and messages, according to its organiser. 
The Summer Swing concerts take place against the spectacular backdrop of Temperate House over five nights in July - with artists booked to perform including Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues orchestra, Bjorn Again and motown celebration, Dancing in the Streets. 
Head of venue hire and commercial events Nickola Savage told The Main Event that as well as providing an enjoyable evening of entertainment for visitors, the concerts play a vital role in generating funds and raising the awareness of Kew Gardens to crowds who may not have considered a visit there before.


New-look show hailed as a great success...
ORGANISERS, exhibitors and visitors have reported this year's Event Production Show as a great success. 
The event changed its name, moved dates and venues this year - to the Grand Hall at London's Olympia - and the new-look show attracted some of the biggest names in the events industry. 
These included Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis who spoke at one of the show's Access Sessions and John Probyn who hosted a Question Time style panel debate.
